Student Placement

Student placement is a thoughtful process that begins in May and involves input from classroom teachers, other school staff, and administrators.  Parents/guardians have opportunity to give input by providing written information on how your child learns best to the principal by May 1st.  The placement team, which includes the child’s current teacher(s), considers academic progress, interpersonal relationships, developmental needs, and attendance as key factors to create balanced classrooms at each grade level. Teacher assignments are finalized by building administrator, after all staff is in place. Families are notified by mail over the summer.  We are unable to honor any requests from parents/guardians regarding a specific teacher selection. Please contact us, if there are any questions.
