Learning About Animals in Winter

Kindergarten has been busy learning about animals in winter. They've learned that some animals hibernate, some migrate and others adapt.

From the Kindergarten blog: "This week we focused on adaptions: some animals grow thicker fur, some animals gather extra food and some animals store extra fat. We explored why blubber helps animals stay warm in frigid temperatures. For this activity, we set out a bowl full of snowy water and had them describe the temperature of the water by putting one hand in the water and one hand in the blubber glove."
